Check out the new grill
See? What do you think?
Okay, no that’s not our new grill.
This is our new grill.
My dad recommended it, so Sunday morning, Jordan and I picked it up from Walmart. That afternoon, the folks came over and helped us put it together. Tonight was the first time we got to try it out, and the results were pretty awesome.
Since it was Cinco de Mayo, Jordan marinated some chicken breasts, and we made fajitas.
That last item was a mighty appetizer. Jalapenos stuffed with cheese and wrapped in turkey bacon. Jordan made three of these. The third one had REAL bacon in the middle. It’s not pictured because it was already in my belly.
I should mention that the grill was a gift from my parents for our anniversary. This weekend, Jordan and I will celebrate one year since the big day. To celebrate, we’re headed to San Francisco for a few much-needed days of vacation. Jordan’s mom and dad are keeping Hank while we’re out of town. Hopefully, there won’t be too many bouts of severe weather while we’re gone, otherwise, Hank will be showing off his—whatever the opposite of “brave face” is.
We know our parents are reading this, and we want to say to you, THANK YOU. Thanks for the new grill. And for dog-sitting. And helping us get the car fixed. And for the nice, “new mom” Mothers Day card my mom gave Jordan. And for your support during this first year of marriage, and in the many years before that. And the many years to come.
We’ll be thinking about you this weekend.

Glad to see you got the grill broken in. Looks like you are pros already. Good job! Can’t want to hear about San Francisco. Know you will have a wonderful time!
