We’re expecting. Great things.
I’m guessing the only thing more insufferable than people who constantly talk about their kids are the people who constantly blog about their kids. And upload pictures to the internet. And post their videos to Facebook.
So, I’m warning you now. Prepare to suffer the insufferable. Because Jordan and I are two people who have always wanted to have kids. Even when we were both little, and didn’t know each other, we knew we wanted to be parents. As occasionally childish and wrongheaded as I’ve been in my life, I’ve never wavered in this particular. I knew I wanted to be a dad.
Jordan is the same way. She’s always wanted to be a mom.
And for nearly as long as we’ve known each other, we’ve also known we would try to have kids together. Today, I’m happy to tell you that one of us is pregnant. And the other one is pretty stoked about it. We invite you to join us here, as we figure this family stuff out.
By the way, here is our work-in-progress. We are a little more than 12 weeks now. The due date is August 31. Jordan says to tell you we are not finding out the sex until the baby is born. In a world where everything is shared, I guess some secrets are still worth keeping. Even from ourselves.
Is it early? Yes. But we’d have to tell you some time, and this seems like a fine way to do it. We want our first post to be a real first. We are now able to see the beginnings of arms and legs. After seeing Bodyworlds recently, I’m all the more amazed at how advanced a tiny human can be.
What can you expect from us as future parents and bloggers? More than just baby pics. Jordan is a baking aficionado, so you may be seeing some of that here. And I will most likely abandon my old personal blog in favor of this one. So, whatever I write about, from politics to tech dorkery, it will probably be posted here as well.
We’re excited. We hope you’re excited, too.

WOW! CONGRATULATIONS YOU TWO!
Since the day Jordan confessed over Taco C, i have been thrilled and planning how to be the best fake aunt evaaa!!! I am so beyond happy for you guys, and also can’t wait to see Jordan get to the I swallowed a basketball phase. love you two!! I mean, three!!!!
You’re gonna make a great dad Poppa Preddy. Congrats. Here’s to making people sick with baby photos.
Thanks, sir. I am hoping to make people completely sick.
Yayyyy! That is fabulous news… I’m so happy for both of you! And, I will be in h-town mid-August for my brother’s wedding, so even if I don’t get to meet the little one just yet, at least maybe I can feel your wife’s belly for a kick
You will definitely have to clear any belly feeling with Jordan.
Wow! I am so excited for you two! However this does give us an uneven number at game night again.
I am sooooo happy for you guys!! I seriously got goosebumps from Jordan’s email first thing this morning and then this wonderful first blog post. (The cake one freaked me out though.) You guys will be incredibly wonderful parents who will have to bring their children to see Madrid some day.
But I hope we see you long before then!
And I totally second the notion of keeping some things secret. I plan to be surprised at the last possible moment. Sometimes technology is totally unnecesary.
Love you guys!
